Samesun Vancouver: what do users think?
thomas0209: Very good hostel on a central location. They have a nice bar, a big lounge next to the kitchen, plenty of showers with free shower gel and shampoo included, good wifi, organise trips etc. Only negative thing is that in this part of the street some hobos and junkies hang around at night, they were harmless but it gives the area at night a less warm welcome vibe compared to Cambie Gastown hostel. But this hostels offers the best facilities.
Romulo Lopez: Worst Hostel I've ever been they kicked me out with any reasonable reason at 7am, they didn't let me have my breakfast, which I had paid, they didn't give me the fear refund they had to give me, and when I mention to see the cameras to show they where wrong they refuse to do it. I don't recommend any one stay at this hostel, go to Cambie Hostel cheaper and better for sure :)
Vincent: Rude noisy staff. Disrespectful and dishonest individual who should not be working in the hospitality industry.Feel free to cover for your fellow staffers, lie to your boss, on-site security, yourselves or even the police but that's only one side of the story. I think it's important to get in touch with the management and set the facts straight. You have my contact info.
venkat kiran: For a hostel this was much better than expected, bit on the pricey side but I guess that’s what’s expected when the hostel is right in downtown Vancouver. The daily free tours are awesome and Donny who was our guide was great as well. Daily breakfast was fine and did the job nothing fancy, you do need to come in early though as it gets emptied pretty fast and the staff can be slow with refilling. The one complaint I have with the hostel is that the ventilation in the rooms is bad, the corridor and outside are cooler but I was cooking in my dorm.Bathrooms on every floor and there is a laundry room as well (although I never used the laundry room). There was one or 2 occasions where I could not access the bathrooms on my floor because they were all full ( But then again I have experienced this with most hostels )One thing to consider with regards to safety is the number of homeless around Granville street, I never faced any issues with them during my stay but it is something to consider. All in all I recommend it as it’s still a decent value for money especially since you are located in downtown Vancouver and that lets you see downtown Vancouver all that much easier.Walkability: Very close to the metro station that has a direct connection to the airport. Downtown Vancouver is generally very walkable.
Melissa Johnston: Great location and lovely staff.I loved the bike tour with Donny and will definitely be going on the other hostel-guided tours.Rooms: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More

Vividha Raunekar: The place is located at the heart of downtown Vancouver.Best option for tourists, easily accessible to Transit, safe for women solo travellerRooms: Comfy beds, cleanSafety: It's safeFood & drinks: Breakfast is good
Emily Maguire: Great room layout, great breakfast, great bar, great tours with Donny. Thanks samesun! Would recommend and stay again :)Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Great value …More
siobhan: The free breakfast and tours make it a great place to stay. The bagels are lovely and fresh and beds are pretty comfy. It is loud but worth it for the inner city location. I’ve been on a few of the free tours with Donny and he was fantastic, so engaging and sweet!Rooms: 3/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Carmen A: Great stay for the price! It’s located in a busy entertainment area, but not noticeable in the day. Feels safe at night with the amount of people and the hostel has a security guard. The private room with bathroom was clean and tidy with a nice concept. Perfect place to stay for a night, especially for a concert. Easy to walk places and shopping area close by. Transit bus also within walking distance and seven eleven on the corner.Place has a GREAT BREAKFAST.Staff are so friendly, helpful and polite. First time hostel stay was a great experience. The surrounding area is noisy because of the entertainment area at night but the hostel is not noisy. Just be aware that this is shared space so you’ll have some people showering at all hours. Bring ear plugs and you’ll be fine! 😂
Stephen H.: The Beaver is a great pub
Candy Barndon: Staying here for my near end of tour from Australia, was a little rocking at the start with organising the rooms and stuff but since then it's been smooth. The bever (pub down stairs) great fun and vibe, everyone is friendly and also the ability to go on free tours accessible from the lobby is just such a great vibe and idea the host of this Donny is incredible and very knowledgeable truly has made the day and the trip amazing and worthwhile. Thank you Donny 😊
Steven: The breakfast in the morning was great, there were fruits available! Room was clean when I checked in and provided towel service. Donny was an amazing tour guide for stanley park and I had a great time.Rooms: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Great value …More
Neel Bhimani: After looking price, I cannot complain too much. People are good. Rooms are sometime not very clean. Good breakfast but I missed orange juice. My 1st cheak-in was smooth not though 2nd. So it depends on your luck. But if you're visiting a single person, it is not a bad choice. The best thing I liked was it's location. Even though during nights, it is not safe to go outside.
Sonja S.: Had a lovely stay! The staff and people all around were super friendly. The hostel overall has a nice vibe to it and offers tours for free, only transportation costs have to be paid (although a tip would be nice!). Our tour guide Donnie was doing his job expertly and aditionally to all the relevant information gave us loads of insider tips. Donnie's tours really brightened the experience for me and made me stay longer in Vancouver!
Lara Butler: Donny was the best tour guide ever, definitely do the daily activities with him!Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Marlene Renteria: Excelente ubicación y servicio 😍
Jasper Johnson: This is definitely the best hostel I’ve stayed at. While the rooms are simple, they do the job and have plenty of plug sockets with a light and fan for each bed.Free breakfast is great, lots of bagels with coffee and plenty of other bits.Great communal room with large kitchen to relax in.Highly recommend going on a few of the tours. The tour guide Donny is great, taking you to all the best spots in Vancouver as well as some hidden gems.

Fairmont Pacific Rim: what do users think?
Hossein s: We went to the Botanist with friends. The food was excellent. Especially the lamb was delicious and fresh.Obviously this place is fine dining with its special prices. The food quality was indeed at the level of its pricing. My only issue with the food is, and this very subjective, the presentation was over crowded.
Tim C.: A bit of a background, I have a very long history with Fairmont PacRim ever since I discovered it back in 2012. I have made many return visits several times a year and basically obtained Accor Diamond status just from Fairmont stays alone.A lot has happened since my last negative review of this place. It was in the transition to a new management team and new staff on the gold floor. I am happy to say that all of my issues with my previous bad experience have been rectified, and it is now once again among the finest properties I've had the opportunity to stay at. (Even compared with some of the most exclusive European boutiques!)Jasmine and her entire Fairmont Gold staff have everything dialed in. They remember our preferences, and try their best to make each of our visit special from extremely generous upgrades to little things like setting up desserts in our room. Although a lot of familiar faces have left to pursue new ventures, I am really liking Jasmine and her team. Her attention to every detail is what makes our visits so wonderful, and I am looking forward to enjoying many more stays at this world class property.
Vincent Silver: Above and beyond the usual strengths from the Fairmont brand (prime locations/ luxury amenities), this particular Fairmont delivers on an experience that is second to none. The service is tirelessly outstanding and consistent from the doormen, front desk, bellhop, dining, bike attendant, valet to the concierge. The foyer has a bustling vibe but it’s so well staffed. Dining is busy as well so I appreciated how eager staff are to accommodate. The established work culture at this location is so rare to witness these days (it’s why I’m writing this review). I booked with my Amex this time and received more perks than when I booked directly with Fairmont in the past. Regardless, with or without the perks, this hotel offers incredible value; Canadian hospitality at its finest.
Sam Wong: Location is amazing. Room is not styling but very well settled in details. Room amenities are upscale. The harbor view is stunning. Food and service in the restaurant are fabulous and impeccable. However, the service from Front Office staff is not up to par which ruined the whole experience of our arrival AGAIN in two months. Last time we booked the partial harbor view room, but we got a room on the very lower floor with buildings and swimming pool view in March. Today we check in at 5pm, we were informed that the room is not ready. We booked through AMEX ( been called “the 3rd party” from Front Office) which is entitled noon check-in if available. But considering it is long weekend we chose to check-in late in order to get the room instantly while checking in. We were shocked while the FO staff informed us that the room was not ready at that moment. After a chat with the Front Office Manager, we immediately got a clean room which is exactly our room type. We were even more upset with the experience, so we were wondering why we could not get the room which is already been cleaned and ready to check-in. Instead, the Front Office wanted us to wait since room is available. We have stayed with Fairmont for years with Accor member. While we were trying to let the front office hook up our reservation to the guest profile, they told us they could not do it, and kept saying that as the system been changed, there’s no guest data been kept in their new system, except for Accor member. Front Office Manager was shocked when we let her know that we do have the membership.I am not sure what exactly the reason why they did not provide us the ready room while checking-in. I did not know the excuse that why they refuse to look for the guest profile.I just feel like we are not welcomed to stay at Pacific Rim.Maybe I should book through other channels instead of through “the 3rd party” like American Express.Sure thing is for our next staycation, we definitely won’t stay with Fairmont Pacific Rim
Nader El-Ramly: Stay at the Pan Pacific downtown due to some unexpected renovation nightmare. Turned it into a tourist in my own city vacation. Staff were amazing, great rooms and beautiful views! The location is perfect.Walkability: Great walkability. Close to lots of attractions downtown Vancouver within 15 to 20 minutes walk.
Stefanie Wills: I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. The staff, food, location and value are all wonderful. My bed was so comfy. My room was on the 19 floor and I had a very small room but it amazing view of the harbor and mountains. My only gripe was that because of the automatic curtains they do not go long enough and the bright light woke me up every morning at 6 am and the seaplanes outside make a lot of noise. I hoped to have a soaking bath but the large bathroom and shower made up for sit. Other than that, it was perfect!

Shailesh Dalmia: Disgusting check in. Long queue. Each check in taking about 15 mins per guest! I mean wow! In todays age n time when it usually takes in about few mins. Were Centurion Card members and had put in an early request for check in at 12 noon but they allotted room only at 3.15. Waited for more than 3 hours. We kept on checking with the check in desk at regular intervals and they said that the room was being cleaned. This continued on for about 1.30 hours. We guessed that they had taken a “vow” not to allocate the room before 3.Anyways we waited. No choice. At 3pm, still room not alloted. Thats the time we decided to meet the Guest Relations manager. I just asked her that such a big hotel, couldnt they accomodate a single room early. The Guest relations manager replied with a curt no. I would have expected her to be a bit apologetic but her behaviour was rude. She said were just 15 mins late and looked as if its a big deal! Then she asks me what can she do? Im not the kind of client who looks for favours. Not me! Would have appreciated a simple sorry and a body language being sorry about it. But this was: WoW! She was not bothered. This is really sad. It seems just business for her.Ive stayed earlier at the hotel and would hold it as one of my most favourite stays.Really disgusting this time. Not staying next time for sure.

HI Vancouver Jericho Beach: what do users think?
L B: Would it be too much to brew large batches of coffee for the morning crowd? HI Kelowna, SameSun, and many other hostels provide at least a free cup of coffee. There’s enough propane being burnt into the atmosphere from the 24 kitchen stoves that boiling 8 litres of water would be easy. The coffee at the late-opening DICED downstairs is recycled (tastes like syrup), and Breka is 2 km away. Not sure if the new Canadians working here are travellers themselves, but Canadians like a cup of Joe in the morning and people generally don’t travel with a Bodum, Kuerig or a Milita.
Julian C.: Great value, great experience would stay here again no hesitationRooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Akshaya Chandani: It’s one of the best places to stay in Vancouver. Very tidy and has all the facilities in the world you need. The location is amazing ;close to ubc ,the beach ,and downtown . Surrounded by nature. The staff is so welcoming and the hospitality is just amazing! I had such a loving and happy experience!!Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Carson Schmidt: So close to being good!I’ve stayed at several HI locations throughout Canada and this was easily the most disappointing. The building needs an overhaul to keep up with other local hostels and rentals.POWER: This was the biggest issue by far. Charging devices was slow and difficult and my adapters constantly fell out of the power outlets in common rooms. The dorm bunks have no power at all which is super disappointing.CLEANLINESS: Even for Vancouver, there was an excess of decay, poorly ventilated bathrooms, and mouldy surfaces. Staff seem to do a decent job cleaning but the building itself isn’t built to deal with the humidity. The ceiling of the upstairs showers are coated in water droplets because the ventilation is so poor.PRICE: The price was quite cheap compared to other local hotels but very expensive compared to hostels elsewhere.MUST HAVES: Portable power bank, shower shoes, eye mask, ear plugs. As an HI member I’d love this location to meet the standards set by other HI Canada Hostels. It’s a shame that Samesun in downtown beats this location by nearly every metric at a similar price point. After a renovation I’d be happy to stay here again.
Maciej Franczuk: Interesting experience, definitely worth a try if you’re travelling. Place was really historic, wouldn’t say it was super clean. Good location, front desk staff were really friendly.

Dmitrii Petukhov: It's a good place for its money.
Dan King: Got a private room here for one night, went to a concert Downtown Van. Kind of out of the way, near UBC. This can be a plus or a minus, depending on your preferences. It was about a 15-20 dollar uber to downtown. The building itself is pretty cool. Really old, almost an asylum feeling to it hahaha. Probably haunted, I don't know. Staff there were friendly, facilities were more than adequate for my purposes. The room was nice enough, though the mattress was kind of thin. I don't know, that could just be me being picky. Good place. I'd probably stay here again, though there is a HI in downtown Van, it was under renovations when I stayed here.Walkability: Close enough to the bus stop for the bus that goes downtown, about 10 minutes, but I wouldn't expect to really be walking anywhere from here.
Anton Shutin: Amazing place, student dormitory like. Really happy to be here.😏Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5Hotel highlights Great view, Romantic, Quiet, Great value …More

YWCA Hotel Vancouver: what do users think?
Edmaris Zamora: Amazing location, really close to Robson Street, the train station and the waterfront too. Room and bathroom were clean, nothing extraordinary but with the prices it's really a good option. I liked they provided a lot of towels and toiletries. Pillows were very comfy.Air conditioning worked really well. I'd totally recommend it if you're traveling on a budget. We had the option with private bathroom but I believe they offer even cheaper options for shared bathrooms.
Roshan Kotian: The property is located in a good location. It's minutes away from Stadium-Chinatown station. It's easy to get the bus as well from around the hotel. The Maintenance staff especially the AC repair Mechanic Aguado was very kind. The housekeeping staff is good too.The front desk staff lacks hospitality. It wasn't easy to deal with them. The room I was assigned had AC issues, looks like they never check the rooms before assigning it to a customer and this happened twice during my stay of 5 nights. The final room I was assigned also had a leak under the sink but I never felt like approaching the front desk and telling them about it as they weren't friendly or approachable at all.I was glad my stay was over and would never return to this property again only because of the front desk staff.
Max Giles: Beautiful and clean room with a great view of the city. Located in a great spot in downtown Vancouver and right next to BC Place stadium, this hotel/residence is perfect for anyone visiting the downtown area, but especially for people in town for a sports game or event. The price for our room wasn't cheap, but it was well worth the price. Thank you for the stay, YWCA.Noteworthy details: There were additional showers, bathrooms, and laundry facilities on our floor.
Esther ayeni: Amazing location!!!!! Rooms clean, staff very friendly and safe and right in downtown and close to everything .. quite affordable, too!! I will recommend and use again!!! ACE Jalandhar: Very good location, Walking distance from Vancouver coal Harbour (10 min walk), Rooms are very small, Coffee is served at reception in morning, Very Cooperative staff, always ready to listen & provide solution.Rooms: Very Small, but very clean, Washrooms are Good, A Good hotel for Short (1-2 days) stay ,Safety: No access without card, even to reception (after 9 PM)Walkability: Very close to Vancouver Coal Harbour ( 10 Mins walk) , good no of restaurants are nearby, Stadium is 3 mins walk

Michelle Teng: I was gonna give this a 5-star review but then housekeeping entered the room even when we had the "sleep in" sign on.I hope they respect the signs the guests put at the door.Rooms: Rooms are spacious and generous.Safety: I did not feel safe when housekeeping went in our room in spite of the sign sleep in is up on the door. I am very particular about housekeeping entering our room during our stay and the fact that they came in regardless of the sign on the door made me feel very unsafe.Walkability: It's in downtown so close to everything.
Josef Votava: I've been living here for 7 months and I had an amazing experience with this hotel! Personal is super nice, they help you with everything, They serve free coffee until 12 am and water with lemon. House Keeping staff is also very nice and friendly, they always smile. The price is perfect for the location, cause there's everything close.I would recommend it for students who are coming to Vancouver for the first time.
David Suero Cobos: Good residence... I have been staying here for a year and a half and they have always helped me in any way they could. Highly recommended :)Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Shannon: This is a wonderful place to stay. I always recommend it to friends and family. It is my first choice when I need a place to rest my head in Vancouver. I like supporting it as it is a social enterprise.

They declined my card three times and said the ONLY way I could pay was by etrasnfer. I called booking.com who I made the booking through and they agreed that this was extremely unsafe. Overall terrible experience with them and would not recommend booking with them.

Fairmont Hotel Vancouver: what do users think?
Sarah Greenwood: An exceptionally modern hotel, room, bar/restaurant - everything you would expect for a very healthy price! Or should I say, top dollar. Amazing experience form the minute we stepped foot on the driveway out front. Exceptionally nice staff, healthy food and delicious drinks. The hotel rooms are like luxury condos, however, the TV's could do with an upgrade.
Jay Joyce '74: Disappointing at best...My wife and I stayed as part of a Regent Cruise Lines off-ship Vancouver excursion. We have stayed at various Fairmont hotels in the past, and always had a great experience. Not this time. After the first evening, we went to breakfast with what we thought was plenty of time to spare. Upon arrival at the Notch8 maitre d's desk, we were told it would be a 15-20 minute wait for the breakfast buffet - even though we could see numerous empty seats in the dining room. They explained they were short-staffed. I asked to see the hotel manager, and only the desk manager was present. I expressed my concern, and said that at a minimum, we should have been told when we checked into the hotel to expect delays in breakfast service (because we had a morning time commitment). He was not aware of the problem. When I said that I would like to speak with the General Manager about the problem, he indicated that the GM had not yet arrived, and he did not know when he would. However, he said that he would have the GM contact me. The GM never contacted me.The make-up mirror light in our room was not working upon arrival. The next morning (same day as the breakfast problem) I stopped by the Front Desk, and the receptionist logged in the problem and said they would have it fixed that day. When we arrived back in our room that evening, it still had not been fixed. I called and they said that someone would be up to fix it. An hour later no one had appeared, and I called again. Same response - they'd get someone up to fix it. An hour later, after no one appeared, I went to bed.Next Day - breakfast - no problem - they had opened more space, leading me to wonder why they could not have seated us at an empty seat the day before...?At 8:15 AM, asked to see the manager to discuss my concerns; same desk manager appeared and said that GM was not in yet. I told him about the lack of response regarding the maintenance problem, and that the GM had not contacted me the day before. Polite reaction, but no actionable response on his part. When we left the hotel at 8:30, the GM had still not arrived. We were told by one of the dining staff team that there have been recent cuts in hours. How can this be possible if you're already not providing the level of service that Fairmont guests have come to expect? After three visits to Vancouver over several years - all at Fairmont Hotels - we will NOT stay at this hotel again, and not recommend it to others.
Taylor Rockefeller: Stayed here with my husband and 2 young kids. Very kid friendly without being a "kid" hotel. Room service food was average, and our bathroom was a little small, but the staff was all 10/10 fantastic. We can't wait to stay here again, either as a romantic getaway or as a family-friendly option. Great location with city views. I can't compliment the staff or environment here enough!
Mitchell Edwards: Beautiful Hotel with tons of history.Super friendly and helpful staff.Defiantly recommebd
Geraldine Henry: Our whole trip was a positive experience from before we arrived; to bellhop service, to extra assistance required with AC and figuring out amenities. Our breakfast before departure was top notch. Each staff member was kind and courteous. Thank you for helping us make the most of our little trip for our kids soccer. We always look forward to our time here. Thank you!Safety: Options for shopping and dining our were all close by. It is nice to have the downtown core experience and be safe and comfortable.Walkability: Excellent location for making the most of our time here.Food & drinks: Always love the quality of care that goes into our food while we are here.

Bernard Beck Jr: Had a fantastic stay at this beautiful hotel as we were getting ready to depart for a cruise. Staff was AMAZING. Will Lin took exceptional care of us during check-in, and was readily available with any assistance that we required during our stay, including being most professional in always calling us by name. The bell and parking staff were also extremely polite and professional. A ten minute walk to the pier and convention center, this location is near anything that you would require including a massive amount of restaurants and bars. The room was fantastic, clean, and we were fortunate (thanks to Will Lin) to get a room with an awesome view of the port.
Matteo Bocci: 4,5 stars. I spent five nights in this hotel for a business meeting. It is impressive how this huge hotel is run in a seemingly effortless fashion. Everything was really good. My room was spacious, clean, with an excellent view. The bed incredibly comfortable, and the service almost impeccable. The only minor point I believe can be improved is the coverage and speed of the Wi-Fi connection. Perfectly located, really convenient to walk pretty much anywhere in the city. Thank you for having me & looking forward to another stay!
Mehsam Sunny: Funny place to work at. They don't hire many people from south America , Asia, middle East , Russia to work in front office , guest services, restaurants and servers.

Times Square Suites Hotel Vancouver: what do users think?
Brad Henley: My wife and I are staying here currently. We love it so much. The "home" feel. The energy of the neighborhood, the friendliness of the staff, the amazing room, this is simply the best place we have ever stayed.Thank you.Rooms: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Location: 5/5 …More
John Foster: This place was right down our alley. It's a very clean, quiet and nice small hotel in a great location with plenty of space in the suite including a kitchen and small balcony. The bed was very comfy too. There is also a nice sitting area on the rooftop with 2 BBQ grills. A Safeway grocery store is right across the street in case you forget to bring your steaks for grilling. 😁 It is a very short walk to Stanley Park and bike rentals for the park are less than a block away. Be sure to save time to walk to the seawall beach for sunset.
Kishan Geeganage: "Times Square Suites Hotel Vancouver is an excellent accommodation option in the heart of Vancouver's West End. The hotel offers spacious and well-equipped suites, which are perfect for families or travelers who want a bit more space. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the hotel is clean and well-maintained. The location is fantastic, with easy access to restaurants, shopping, and public transportation. The prices are reasonable for the quality of the accommodation and the location. Overall, a great choice for those looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay in Vancouver BC.
Robert Hughes: Ok, I travel a lot, and rarely would I give a hotel 5 stars. This place is great. Being suites, the rooms have everything. Full kitchen with washer and dryer. Fireplace, tv’s in both living room and bedroom. Extremely clean. Safeway across the street. 2 of the best Italian restaurants at street level. In other words, a fantastic location. Bus stops 1/2 block away. Parking in basement.
BRUCE MARTIN: Would definitely recommend and stay again. Staff was great, location was great, Room was awesome.Rooms: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 4/5Hotel highlights Romantic, Quiet, Great value …More
Jess: Stayed in September 2022 stay at Time Square Suites Hotel prior to our cruise. We found our suite very comfortable and homely. The service was wonderful and the location is just fabulous. I only wish parking was free to hotel guests. Other than that all was great! Wish we could have stayed longer. So many tourist attractions and amazing food places close by.
Gareth Hicks: Fantastic Apartments
Alex Kingston: I’ve been staying here for over 10 years now and have accumulated well over 100 nights of being a valued guest. When I come here I always feel like I’ve come home to my family and not just a regular hotel. The staff are exceptional and care about not only the guests but also what they do and how they do it.The turnover rate for employees here is virtually non existent. In the ten years I’ve been visiting here it’s always the same amazing and beautiful people and there’s a reason they don’t leave. Each room is its own separate apartment with bedroom , kitchen , living room, fireplace and washer and dryer. It contains every convenience you’ll need for your trip and best of all the location can’t be beat. You’re literally a 3 minute walk to Stanley Park’s lost lagoon and hundreds of exceptional restaurants and shopping are at your door. Thanks for all the great memories over the years.A++++++++++++10/10
Eleanor Hicks-Green: Fabulous stay. The rooms are more beautiful in person, and the service was amazing. We had nothing but nice experiences here and wished we could have stayed longer. Andrew Halton: Absolutely fantastic place to stay in Vancouver.
Nicolas GIRARD: What a cute hotel! We loved our short stay there. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The hotel couldn't be located in a better area, it's only a few minutes away from Stanley Park.Rooms are great, there's everything you need. We also had a great view on the last floor.I highly recommend it!
Alyona T: Rooms: Our room was awesome, warm, quiet and good for the whole family.Nearby activities: There is plenty of activities nearby since it's almost downtown.Walkability: Great for walkers, sidewalks and parks all around the place.Food & drinks: There is a bunch of different cafes nearby, all kitchens and price ranges, also Safeway just across the road.
S.: I found this hotel based on location and ratings. It didn't disappoint and exceeded my expectations. Location is very convenient - walking distance to Stanley Park and tons of restaurants downtown. Starbucks downstairs, Safeway across the street corner, and multiple bike rentals across the street. Check-in and out were both smooth. Room was clean and quiet and came with a full kitchen, a fireplace, and washer and dryer. All staff I met were nice and helpful. Highly recommend!
Jean Guy Rivest: appartement completement meuble avec une localisation ideale au coeur de vancouver.situe pres de stanley parc et de toutes les activites touristiques.

St Clair Hotel-Hostel Vancouver: what do users think?
Laura Acosta: Excellent price and location. Really clean bedrooms and great service. Definitely a great place to stay in Vancouver.
Eep Hour: Cold in the winter. Noisy, creaky doors and stairs. 10 am check out time is ridiculous (everywhere else is 11). I only stay there because it's cheap(er) and its location.
Karmel A: We stayed here as a family.4 of us (2 adults and 2 children) we got the triple room. The beds were hard and not very comfortable but you get what you pay for. There is a bar near the hostel so it got pretty loud till 2am...so if you're a light sleeper I don't recommend but we slept through it for the most part. The service was great. Place is clean but there is a weird smell you'll get used to.The area itself is not family friendly so I wouldn't come back with the kids. By myself is another story
Hamza: They value for the money is good. It is an old building which might put some people off but I liked it a lot, seeing the architecture and design-style of the previous times, gave me nostalgia even tho Im 21 haha. Loved the building somRooms: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Location: 5/5 …More
Wesley Brooke: Honestly, not as bad as the other reviews make out. Good spot for a solo or pair of travellers. One MAJOR BAD though, is the hostel charged me a 'pre-authorisation fee' of around $115 CAD. At the end of my stay they said they refunded the payment, however it did not come through. I contacted them and after two weeks of back and forth emails, the hostel said the refund was in a 'virtual void' and that they could not do anything more. I don't believe payment systems work like that, and if they did, I at least expected the hostel to still make an effort to get me my money. In the end, my stay costed me double the amount it was meant to. Tread lightly with this place.
Kati Mathys: The worst hostel I've ever seen!Rooms: 1/5|Service: 1/5 …More
Debora Hickman: Love this place, the kids that work here are the best.Rooms: They're cute, quiet, most of them. Very clean and very accommodating.Nearby activities: Restaurants, shopping centers, little shops excellent for souveniers, birthday presents, nice walkabout.Safety: The building it's self is very secure and safeWalkability: There are oodles of places too walk too in this area.Food & drinks: Fast food restaurants, nice dining restaurants, excellent steak houses. Lots too chose from.
Zuzanna Madej: HORRIBLE PLACE!Do not stay in this Hostel!Bathrooms were very dirty and disgusting! Haven't seen them being cleaned once during our 4 nights stay. Our room was stuffy, there was no air circulation. Very uncomfortable bed that would make noises every time I moved. Additionally, our room had a very distinct smell that honestly made me sick. No real kitchen and no way to cook a meal. Dodgy neighbourhood with homeless people, shouting in the middle of the night. Staff said there is a complementary tea and coffee in the morning in the common room, I went to check it out but honestly I wouldn't dare to drink anything from those mugs. There was a tiny pot of milk that stayed on that table for god knows how long without being refrigerated. No milk alternatives option. All things considered, the price wasn't even that low. Make yourself a favour and do not book your stay in this hostel.
Stacey Zanchetta: Great location, close to everything. POOR bathroom, shower & kitchen facilities. No kitchen to cook in, microwave and fridge on each floor. No AC. Really gross bathrooms and showers. Didn't get cleaned once in our three days here, nor did one of the toilets get unclogged! Probably wouldn't stay again.Rooms: 3/5|Service: 2/5|Location: 5/5 …More
M Sceaux: Good location and nice staff are overshadowed by poor internet and dirty bathrooms.
James Cummings: Not a good place to stay, even if you're just spending a night trying to catch a cruise ship, and especially not good if you're trying to enjoy a couple days in the city. There are so many little things that the staff could do to improve this place but none of them seem to get done! The bathrooms are gross, the showers are full of mildew, the common areas are uncomfortable and small, and the staff is rude and apathetic (if you can find them at all).We arrived in the evening to a hostel devoid of any staff and had to wonder downtown until we found an open room for the night. When we returned the next day they did not take and share of responsibility, even though we had called ahead and confirmed our late arrival. The rest of our stay was uncomfortable, questionably clean, and stuffy. There was no AC.My advice to St.Clair:Clean your bathrooms.Get rid of the mildew and repaint your shower area.Hire enough people to staff the front desk at all times.Get bedroom furniture that feels like it can hold up an adult human.Get AC in the building if you can.
Misha: Really great location for cheap and close to everything. There are public showers and bathrooms. Free coffee in the morning until 12. There's a pin at the front door that you'll receive instructions when reserved. If you do arrive after 10pm, make sure to know thr number since I didn't receive the email information and was almost stuck outside. Luckily a group passed by and got my inside as I showed all my email confirmation. The place is clean but require maintenance. It's pretty hot during the summer, but there are fans in each rooms.Great place to choose when you're a group of friends.
